The Canning World Arts Exchange is proud to introduce the 2016 Festival Production “The Myth of Gong and Drum with special guest artists the “Ede Culture of the Gong” from the Dak Lak region of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

This ancient and nearly extinct lost art form is ceremonially reproduced by the remaining few indigenous village gong masD daily activities and rites of passage. They generously collaborate with the Douglas Dunn and Dancers modern dance company from New York, the Taikoz drummers from Sydney, the Link Dancers from Perth, the Middar Aboriginal Dance Theatre and the Canning Community Choir singing in the Ede language. A mysterious blending of the sacred and the sublime with universal myths shared by all who witness this performance.
